With the first production of “The Nutcracker” by Cornerstone Ballet on Dec. 9 fast approaching, anyone who has not yet bought tickets must act fast. Tickets for all three productions of “The Nutcracker” are nearly sold out, according to numbers provided by Cornerstone Ballet. As of Nov. 28, the only remaining seats are 12 for the Dec. 9 production, 11 for the Dec. 15 production; and 10 for the Dec. 16 production for a total of 33 tickets left to purchase. ‘Deck the Halls’

Volunteers decorate the Arts Center ahead of the holidays
Volunteers decked the halls of the Simpsonville Arts Center with Christmas trees, nutcrackers and lights just in time for the Holiday Art Showcase and holiday season. Maria Brady, Tammy Hoyler, Julie Jacobs and Kikki Mikkelson set up two trees, adorned the box office area with nutcrackers, lights and other decorations, hung wreaths on the auditorium windows and more. The
“All Is Calm. All Is Bright” Shop Local Holiday Art Showcase
opens with a reception on Nov. 16 at 6-8 p.m. and runs until Dec. 7. The Simpsonville Arts Center and City of Simpsonville thank the volunteers for their hard work in making the beloved space festive.

Actors for Clark Nesbitt’s No Dreams Deferred Productions Unlimited community theater held their first table read of the iconic play
A Raisin in the Sun

Honoring veterans on Veterans Day

Veterans Day Ceremony to be held at Arts Center, feature Upstate Men’s Choir
The City of Simpsonville will host the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Simpsonville Arts Center on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. For the second year in a row, the Simpsonville Veterans Day Ceremony will feature the Upstate Men’s Choir, who will perform several numbers remembrance of those who have served their country in its history. In addition to the performance by the Upstate Men’s Choir, Mayor Paul Shewmaker will give remarks as well as Alan Kan, a second generation Holocaust survivor. The public is welcome to fellowship at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1845 at 121 Hedge St. following the ceremony. Mayor Paul Shewmaker, Simpsonville City Council and City officials invite members of the public to attend the Simpsonville Veterans Day Ceremony to honor all our veterans.

Quilts of Valor to present quilts to 3 veterans
The Simpsonville Arts Center will host the Simpsonville Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11, 2024 in the auditorium. The ceremony will feature a presentation by Quilts of Valor, a nonprofit organization that provides quilts to veterans. Quilt recipients will be Michael Barnhart (U.S. Air Force), Brian Morley (U.S. Navy) and Annette Tyler (U.S. Army). Also featured in the program will be the honor guard by the Simpsonville Fire Department, remarks by Mayor Paul Shewmaker and the Armed Forces Salute.
